Xplore Malaysia - Saté Nyonya
Nyonya style cuisine created by the wealthy Chinese immigrants of the 18th & 19th Century. Their cuisine had a distinct Malay influence. You choose, either skewer your favoured meat, vegetables or fish or do just as we do, marinade the bite sized pieces and cook off the skewer!
Our special marinade creates the base for this interesting & tasty dish, almost velvety in texture with subtle heat & slightly soured with the addition of tamarind. Accompanied with a peanut dipping sauce, ideally served hot, along with sweet and sour dipping sauces to create a memorable meal.
So easy to prepare . . . so invite some friends!
With 3 different dips to complement the main dish, my personal highlight is the warm peanut sauce which offers a new dimension to this meal.
